In this article we will show how you can install Time Doctor 2 on a Remote Desktop Server so that your users could run the Time Doctor 2 app when they connect to a remote desktop server.
Please note that when installed on a remote server, the Time Doctor 2 desktop app will:
- ONLY monitor the activity inside a remote session and NOT on the local user PC. If you want to also track activity on the local PC, you must install the Time Doctor 2 desktop app on the local PC in addition to the remote server, however doing so for "silent" version of the app will create an additional user in your account, and "interactive" users may find it cumbersome having to track time using 2 different instances of the app.
You will need Administrative access to your server to successfully complete steps below.
2. Run the installer with the following parameters on your server:
--mode unattended --forAllUsers 1 --runAfterInstall 0
(Please note that the arguments above work with Time Doctor 2 version 3.0.22 and above)
3. After installation is complete, open your Server Manager Console and navigate to Remote Desktop Services -> Collections -> QuickSessionCollection
(If you don't have Remote Desktop Services installed, please install them from Add Roles and Features).
4. Click on Task and select Publish RemoteApp Programs. Then select Time Doctor 2 from the list of programs and click Publish.
That's it! Now when your remote users connect to this server they will see the Time Doctor 2 desktop app on their Desktop.
